Although we expanded our giving and partnerships on a regional and national scale, we believe that it’s important for us to remain close to the community that has been at the heart of the foundation since its inception.

The Peter & Jeri Dejana Foundation’s Internship Program
Our internship program was launched in 2026 to provide college students from all academic disciplines and backgrounds with an introduction to the complex yet vital work of philanthropy. Our goal is to mentor academically driven students by equipping them with meaningful, hands-on experiences that prepare them for success in their future careers.
Peter & Jeri Dejana Foundation interns rotate across the Foundation’s various teams, gaining firsthand exposure to our operations and grantmaking process while making meaningful contributions to our mission. An intern’s duties may vary depending on the team they’re assigned to. All interns are invited to attend foundation events and are encouraged to take advantage of the various networking opportunities during their internship.
Internship Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for the Peter & Jeri Dejana Foundation’s internship program, students must:
- Be a full-time rising sophomore, junior, or senior enrolled in an accredited, degree-seeking undergraduate program within one of the 50 U.S. states or U.S. territories.
- Have a cumulative minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0
- Be qualified to work within the U.S. during the duration of the program
- Be willing to work full-time, in-person

Internship Application Timeline
The application for the Peter & Jeri Dejana Foundation Internship Program opens in October and closes in January. Qualified candidates who are selected to advance in the process will be notified with an invitation for an interview. Decisions are released a few weeks after the final interview. Please be advised that due to the large number of applicants every internship cycle, the Peter & Jeri Dejana Foundation is unable to give feedback on individual applications.

Yes, the internship is paid. Interns are paid a competitive hourly salary.
Is there an opportunity for full-time employment after the internship program is completed?
The Peter & Jeri Dejana Foundation’s internship program is not meant as a means towards full time employment. The internship program is designed to provide students valuable work experience and opportunities to engage in meaningful research and projects. However, interns are encouraged to speak with the foundation’s senior staff regarding career advice, networking, and guidance on future career opportunities.
Must applicants meet all the eligibility criteria to apply for the internship?
Yes, applications must make sure they comply with all of the eligibility requirements to apply and be considered for the internship.
